The Odd Couple Chapter Two

"Big bro you ok? You were screaming Korra's name…"

"I'm fine Bolin", I said letting out a sigh, "just had a crazy nightmare." Bolin was smiling at me, and gave me a glass of water.

"So what was your nightmare about?" He asked. I told him everything. He was my brother right? He wouldn't tell anyone, especially Korra. I hope.

"Whoa, heavy dream bro, so what is this part about a kiss?" Bolin asked, a grin seemed to take over his face.

"It was just a dream Bolin, besides we didn't even kiss. It doesn't mean anything." I said as calmly as I could. He was getting more up in my case since Korra became part of our team.

"Mako, you need to be more open with your emotions, or Korra will never know how you feel." Bolin said letting out a sigh. "You're too enveloped in your own little world." I was getting angry. I could feel it.

"I don't like her in that way Bolin. I thought I already told you that." I said raising my voice.

"Makko I know that but-"

"No, Bolin no, Stop trying to comfort me!" I practically screamed. Bolin moved back, and took a deep breath.

"Mako, I'm just implying, let's say you are a closed book, no one knows much about you, until they decide to pick you out and open you. You need to be more open with Korra, she sometimes opens you, to take a small peek, but you don't let her read the good parts." He said cracking a nervous smile. I guess Bolin was right, a little bit at least.

"So when is Korra coming over?" I asked eager to see her again.

"Well we don't have practice in another hour, but I can invite her over." Bolin said smirking (troll facing).

"NO Bolin don-" before I could finish, Bolin was on the phone. I ran to Bolin, trying to grab the phone, but Bolin was just pushing me away, not so far that I couldn't hear, but just enough so I could hear everything. After a few seconds of beeping, someone picked up the phone.

"Hello?" Tenzin answered.

"Oh Hello there Tenzin, Mako would like to talk to Korra please." Bolin said, his smirk engulfing his face.

"Why certainly, one moment please." Tenzin put down the phone, and Korra picked up "Hello?" Korra asked.

"Hey Korra! It's Bolin and Mako." Bolin said in reply, his smirk growing.

"Oh hi there! Why are you calling?" She asked curious.

"Mako wants to have a play date with you!" Bolin said smirking (definitely troll facing).

"Mako? He wants me to come over? Why isn't he telling me this?" She asked, her voice mixed with rage and curiosity.

"Well, he is out at the moment. He also said he wanted to hang out with you." Bolin said giggling. I was trying my hardest to snatch the phone from my evil little brother's hands.

"Really? He wants me to come over?" She asked her voice perking with excitement.

"Oh Yeah, he really wants you to come over." Bolin said giving me a thumbs up.

"Oh ok then, what time will he get back?" she asked, her voice very mellow.

"Around noon, or 2 minutes, so is he going to see you there?" Bolin asked almost laughing.

"Ok then, I'll be right over. See you later Bolin." She exclaimed. "See you later Korra." Bolin said, pressing the red button on the phone.
           
"So? What did you think?" Bolin said poking me with his shoulder.

I sighed and said "How do you 'hang out' with someone?"

Bolin was laughing so hard at this point. "Just talk, do what you do to me, talk, get to know her, you know etc., etc." He said, occasionally chocking on laughter.

I sighed, and went to our room. I changed into my casual clothes, being sure to include my scarf. After Korra and I 'slept' together, she's seemed to have been avoiding me. Bolin has been eternally grateful, now always giving me the last dumpling, and he even let Korra go last for practice. I chuckled a bit, because Bolin was always like this. Dragging me into a situation I didn't want to be in.  Then some one knocked on the door,

"Come in." I said, still putting on my shoes.

Korra came in, saying bye to Bolin. Bolin walked out and gently closed the door. I could hear him grab Pabu and run to the ladder, which led him out of the apartment.

"So…" Korra said, sitting across from me, on the floor.

"What do you want to do?" I asked after a long silence.

"I don't know Mako, you invited me here." Korra said, giving me a look of displeasure.


"Well I'll give you a survey, and then we'll decide where to go with that information." I replied.

"Fine then city boy, we can do that."

"Alright Korra, do you want to hang out here or out?" I asked looking at her blue eyes.

"Why don't we just practice?" She blurted out.

. "Well then let's go to the gym." I said to help ease the tension. Then I started walking, since we were practicing I started taking my shirt and shoes off. I caught sight of Korra staring.

"Does my half naked body disturb you?" I asked a grin on my face.

"N-No…" She said her face trying to avoid mine.

"Then why were you staring?" I asked the grin still on my face.

"Can we just get to practicing?!" she yelled, her face flustered.

"Ok then, well we can start with the noodle, it's a probending technique." I said my grin still present.

"Noodle, honestly could you think of a worst name?" Korra spat back at me.

"It's j-, never mind." I said, then taking a deep sigh. Open book Mako, open book.

"You want to be fast on the attack, but at any moment you can pull back, you also want to be flexible, like a noodle."

"Ok, sound pretty easy. Do you want to demonstrate city boy?" Korra said, a grin growing on her face.

"Sure avatar." I snickered back. I hit Korra with a fire lotus, a technique my dad had taught me. She tried to hit back, but I dodged it. She knocked me down, but I threw a fireball at the last second, and she fell back and hit the post.

"Korra, are you ok?" I asked, my voice filled with panic.

"I'm fine Mako; you're so overprotective, sheesh." Korra said crossing her arms.

"You're bleeding." I said wiping the blood away from the cut on her forehead.

"Mako, why do you care all of sudden, I don't get it. Usually Bolin would do this stuff for me." Korra said her eyes were closed.

"Korra, you're my teammate and a friend, I always have, it's just I used to do it differently." I said grabbing bandage wrap to put on her head.

"So you yelled at me because you cared?" Korra said in disbelief.

"I don't yell at people just to yell at them." I replied, wrapping her head with the bandage wrap.

"Seems like it." Korra muttered under her breath. I finished wrapping her head with the bandage.

"Come on avatar, let's see what you learned." I said, getting ready for an attack.

"Don't worry I'll go easy on you." She said giving me a smirk.

"No need to." I said throwing a fireball. She dodged it. Huh. Not bad for Korra.

"Good job Korra, keep it up." I said, a smile came across my face.
Korra was going to throw a stream of water at me, but she tripped over someone earth bending.

"MAKO MOVE!" she said, I couldn't hear, so she rammed into me. I was pinned underneath Korra, her body on top of mine. She was blushing, struggling for words.

"I-I Uh…. S-Sorry about this…" she said, lifting her body a off mine, she stuck out her hand, and she pulled me up.
"It's ok… You didn't do this right?" I asked trying to smile, my face was burning again.
"N- No… I didn't." I looked all over the room. Then I saw in the stair case, that's right. Bolin, laughing his head off with Pabu.
