The Odd Couple Chapter Three

When I saw Bolin, Korra saw him as well. He stopped laughing, and jumped from the ladder.

"BOLIN YOU'RE A DEAD MAN!" Korra yelled her face still pink.

"Bolin, you're going to die!" I yelled, chasing after him.

Korra summoned a wall of earth in front of Bolin. Bolin wasn't paying attention so he rammed in to the wall. Pabu sat on top of him, hissing.

"Bolin why would you do that, are you crazy?" Korra asked her voice filled with rage.

Bolin cracked a nervous smile and said "It was on accident, I raised my hand and boom! A little pile of earth appeared."

"I know you're not telling the truth, right Mako?" She asked, turning her face to me.

"Yeah." I said in reply.

"I have to go anyways. Tenzin is going to teach me more air bending."  Korra said waving her hand and walking out of the gym. When I couldn't see her I started to question Bolin.

"What was that for?" I asked.

"To make things more interesting, I know you're not the romantic type." He said smirking.

"I can if I want to Bolin, I don't need help." I said helping him up.

"Whatever man, by the way can you and pick up some dumplings?" Bolin pleaded.

"Fine, I'll do it for you bro." I said putting my shirt and shoes.

"Love you Mako!" Bolin said giving me a huge smile.

"What ever." I said walking out of the gym.

I walked out of the golden stadium, I decided to take the back way, because the shop was closer if I took that way. I ran to take the bus, but some one hit me with a Moped.

"Sorry I didn't see you there." A voice said, it was feminine.

"How could you not see me I mean I was ju- jus-." I trailed off. I looked at the girl. She was very pretty. I blushed for a minute.

"I was wow," I coughed. "I was-" then I cleared my throat.

"Are you ok? Did I hurt you? I'm such an Idiot."

I came home with the dumplings. I was on the ladder and stopped when I heard Korra's voice

"Bolin, you understand right?"

"You bet I do babe."

Then Korra, she was laughing. I was angry, so I opened the attic door.

"Hey Bolin I br- Korra when did you get here?" I asked smiling.

"A while ago…why?" she asked getting up from the couch and walking in front of me.

"Well the fact is that you were talking to Bolin an-" I almost finished, when Korra slapped me (bitch slapped).

"You were eavesdropping weren't you? I can't believe you!" She yelled.

"Korra It just I didn't ex-"

"I saw you with another girl, and I-I don-"

"Is someone jealous?"

"Shut up! I don't trust her; she could be working for Amon!"

"You just don't want me to be happy huh?!"

"I do It's just not with her!"

"I don't care ok you just are jealous! Admit it!"

"NO I'm not!"

"Well why don't you just admit it!" Korra was crying. Great I was a big enough jerk to scare my own crush away.

"Korra I didn't mean all of th-"


"Just shut up.", she said her speech interrupted by sobbing, "I try to give you advice I truly mean and you reject it! I care about you too Mako stop being selfish!" she slapped me again, and ran out of the attic.

"You screwed up BAD." Bolin said.

"What was I supposed to say? You're dating my brother and I don't like it?!" I yelled back.

Then Bolin started laughing. "Dating Korra? We're best friends, and you like her! That would be awkward and unbrotherly." He said in reply.

"I screwed up bad then…Ugh I am such an idiot!" I said placing my hand on my face.

"Dude go and apologize. If she was really upset she wouldn't want anyone to see. Check the back of the stadium." Bolin said winking.

"Alright bro."

I walked in the front first, I aw the air temple and the statue of avatar Aang. I finished checking the front, then I went to the back. After a few minutes,  I saw her, Korra crying near the garbage can.

"Korra?" I asked sitting next to her.

"Leave me alone! You stupid jerk! I never want to see you again." She said, turning her head away from me.

"Korra, I'm sorry! Please forgive me.. Is everything okay?" I asked, putting my arm gently on her shoulders.

"Alright fine, but you have to be nicer to me. Oh and besides everything is awful… Mako, I'm so sc-" She said, she was about to finish, but she buried her face into my chest, and continued to sob. I blushed, but she didn't notice. After a long time she took her face from my chest, and but her head on my shoulder.

"Mako, are you afraid?" She asked piercing through me with her blue eyes.

I sighed, placed my arm on the ground, and finally said "Korra honestly I'm terrified." I wasn't afraid for myself. I was terrified for Korra. She would get herself in a stupid situation. I couldn't lose Korra. I would never forgive my self if I did.

"People will expect too much out of me Mako. I know they will." She said, retracting her stare.

"Korra you're the avatar, they always will." I said leaning my head on hers.

"I know Mako… Do you think I'll be good enough?" she asked me placing her hand over mine.

I was blushing, she was blushing too. I tried to break the tension so I said "Uh Uh Y-yeah, you'll be great."

"Thanks sweetie I needed a real compliment for once." Korra said getting up and winking at me. She stuck her hand in the air and said "Thanks again lover boy see you later."

"Korra wa-" I yelled after her, running a little bit.

"Yes Sweet pea?" she asked her voice in a sarcastic tone.

"I'm really sorry about the Asami thing. I'll make it up to you." I said smiling.

"Take the gang out to eat then sweet pea. You and Bolin pick me up at eight." She said waving her hand in the air.

"See you sweetie pie!" I said waving.

"Shut up Mako!"

"So are we going on a double date?" Bolin asked cracking a nervous smile. I got my scarf and my tie.

"Why Bolin?" I asked giving him a suspicious look.

"Because I have a woman that is here and would like to come…" He said nervously.

"Bolin! What did I say about your 'girlfriends'?!" I said tying my tie.

"Sorry, must've forgotten." Bolin said smirking (trolling) then walking out of my room.

I walked into the living room to see Bolin making out with this girl.

"Uh Bolin, your brother…" the girl said.

"Oh sorry there Mako this is Kanari." Bolin said directing his hand to her. I went over and shook her hand.

"I'm Mako, as you have already probably heard." I said smiling.

"He told me many…Interesting things about you…" she said smiling.

"Well let's go pick up Korra!" Bolin sad opening the door to get out of the attic.

I went on the boat with Bolin and Kanari (I'm on a boat I'm on a boat I'm on a boat I'm on a boat). The man said it was free since we made it to the tournament. We said thank you and got off of the boat.

"Hey look daddy that's the guy with the tasty juice!" Meelo screamed. He ran over to me.

"Hey Meelo!" I said picking him up and putting him up on my shoulders. Oh no… now he was chewing my hair off.

"You have pretty hair weirdo!" Meelo said continuing to chew my hair. Then Jinora and Ikki ran to me and slammed me with questions.

"Do you think Korra is pretty?"

"Will you marry her?"

"When are you proposing?"

"Does the ring have a diamond as big as the sun?"

We finally made it inside the air temple, and I went up the stairs to Korra's room. I knocked on the door.

"Sweet pea, are you ready?" I said sarcastically. I could hear Jinora and Ikki squeal with excitement.

"One minute honey." She replied back sarcastically as well. Then she came out. This was not the same Korra. She looked beautiful. Her dress was as blue as the sea, It was very short though, and had one shoulder strap. It was a fading blue at the chest, there was a belt that was adorned with rhinestones. Below the belt, it was all ruffles, tie dye like her chest. Her blue eyes were as clear as ice. Her brown hair looked of Mahogany, it was down on her shoulders, curled and adorned with a small crystal tiara.

"You look beautiful Korra." I said practically drooling.

"Well keep your eyes up perv." She said slapping me on the back.

"Where did you get a dress like that?" I asked staring into her eyes.

"Oh it was Pema's, she said I could borrow it for tonight." She said lifting my head up with her hands.

"What about that tiara?" I asked almost touching it, but Korra slapped my hand away.

"I got it when I was little from Katara. She said it belonged to her and she wanted me to have it." She said smiling. "You want to escort me down sweetie?"

"Be my pleasure pumpkin." I said sticking my arm out.

We walked down the stairs, Jinora and Ikki lost it. Meelo said "Mommy, who is that pretty girl with tasty juice man? I never thought he would get a pretty lady… Wait is she a robot?"

"You look beautiful Korra." Pema said grabbing her shoulder. "Don't stay out to late ok? Don't get drunk, just be careful okay?"

"Don't worry Pema, I won't get drunk. I don't know about Mako." Korra said pointing at me smiling.

"Ha ha very funny Korra. We should get going." I said grabbing her arm.

"Wait where are you going?" Pema asked her voice tinted with concern.

"We're going to Unzi's, Pema." Korra said, a smile on her face.

"Alright, here is 50 yuan. I want at least ten dollars back alright?" Pema said giving Korra two twenties and one ten dollars in paper money.

"Yes ma'am." We all said simultaneously.

"Alright have fun!" Pema said hugging Korra, then picking up Meelo and leaving the room.

WE were on the boat, leaving the air temple. "Wow Korra you look AMAZING!" Bolin said giving her a thumbs up.

"Thank you Bolin, who is your girlfriend?" Korra asked pointing to her.

"Oh well she isn't my girlfriend exactly. It's just a casual outing, not a date right?" Bolian asked Korra.

"Yeah it's just four friends going out to eat." Korra said smiling.

"My name is Kanari." Kanari said shaking Korra's hand. "Wait, are you the avatar?"

"Yeah I am." Korra said backing away as if a rabid fan was about to tackle her.

"Oh ok cool." Kanari said smiling.

We arrived at Unzi's. We sat in a booth. The waiter thought it was a date so he congratulated Korra on finding a boyfriend, but Bolin said it was just a casual outing.

"Casual sure, more like formal." The waiter said walking back to the podium where he came from.

"Korra, why don't you go in first?" I said directing my hand for her to go first.

"Thank you 'pumpkin'." Korra said going in the booth. I went in too. I saw Korra's hand stray on the booth so I grabbed it. I saw Korra blush, but I only caught a glimpse because she turned away so I wouldn't see her.

"So what do you want to eat?" I asked Korra.

"Eh, I'll just have sushi with a side of rice, with salmon defiantly!" Korra said, then putting the menu down. "You Mako?"

"Eh, maybe pork ramen." I said placing my menu down.

"Pork Ramen is pretty good, but beef is better." Korra said smirking.

"How about I order for you then?" I asked; taking her menu. I wanted this to be a good date, I probably would never experience this again so might as well kick in my rusty romantic bone.

"Okay…Gee you are taking this as a real date huh?" Korra said blushing a little.

"Well you do you look beautiful, so might as well treat you right." I said smiling back.

"Stop it! Oh please stop it! You two are too cute!" Bolin said laughing with Kanari.

"Bolin what have you been drinking?" I asked taking his cup from him.

"Nothing sheesh, I'm not drunk! Right Kanari?" He asked, interrupted by hiccups occasionally.

"Right Bolin, Mako sheesh you fathead we aren't!" Kanari said her voice interrupted by hiccups as well.

Then Korra started laughing. She looked really pretty when she laughed. She honestly looked like my mom. My mom was the only one in our family with brown hair. I put my elbows on the table, then I put my hands on my face. I felt like sobbing.

"Mako?" Korra asked me.

"Yeah sorry had a flashback…Of my mom, you look like her tonight." I said. I took a swig from a cup, I think it was Bolin's so I threw it back.

"Mako? What are you doing?" she asked me, looking at sleeping Bolni and Kanari.

"I don't like alcohol. I prefer not to drink to have a good time." I said looking into her deep blue eyes.

"Well why don't we get out of here?" Korra said giving me a grin.

"Wait, let me do something first." I said leaning in to Korra's face. I kissed her on the cheek.

"U-Uh W-Well we should get going, you have a date with a girl named Asami tomorrow right?" Korra said blushing.

"Korra for real, you look so beautiful right now." I said grabbing her hand. She took her hand away from mine.

"Mako, you have a girlfriend. Her name is Asami." Korra said trying to push me out of the booth.

"Whatever, we haven't even been on a date." I said getting out of the booth. I let Korra get out, when to my surprise someone said:

"So are you cheating on me Mako?"
